Don't scare people with your ratties. It is not funny for the person or your ratties. If you introduce your rattie correctly the person you are thinking of scaring may turn out to be a rattie woner and lover. I am one of those people that was so afraid of rats and mice I would freak out... and I mean freak out. Now, I have owned, bred and trained mice and ratties. I always had other small animals, and many other animals, but rats and mice just sent me. Be good to people and your own animals. Do not scare people with them.
